I found this hippie-mobile just around the corner from my apartment. This truck is the first Berkeley car I’ve seen that used wood. The theme appears to be an extension of the house’s motif. I like that.

I spotted this one from the back seat of Kim’s car as we were driving into Fremont, and luckily I ran into it later on to get a more comprehensive view. This is the natural counterpart to the turf Honda.

Apparently Berkeley cars are scattered along the west coast further than I thought. I saw two over a weekend in Seattle. The first one is this Pokemon Bug. It’s not just a card game anymore.

This VW bus was just sitting outside my apartment one morning. I’ve never seen it before, so it must have just been visiting the area. Some of the features are skeletons, lines of skulls, matchbox cars, magnetic letters, pictures of Jesus, and an upside-down US flag.

This Saturday morning turned out to be a banner day for Berkeley cars. I was riding with Jim Dandy and Stache on the garage sale hunt, taking us down side streets and parts of Berkeley that I normally wouldn’t see.

All I can think of with this one is an SUV in a clown suit. Chalk that one up in the “Only in Berkeley” column.

Approaching this Honda, we didn’t notice anything uncommon. However, as we neared, Beaudry realized that this car was anything but ordinary. It is actually covered in artificial turf. I thought a picture of one of us on top of it with a putter would be funny, but alas Stache doesn’t carry a putter in his car.
